2016 Torit Health Assessment

The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the extent of implementation of the PHC project of the Catholic Diocese of Torit in South Sudan, to investigate achievements as well as challenges, and to suggest realistic opportunities to strengthen the health project to sustainably provide hospital and basic health services considering national priorities, local context and burden of diseases.  Specifically, the assignment looked into: (i) achievements of the program based on specific output, outcome and impact indicators; (ii) critical enablers and constraints of the program; (iii) functioning of the Diocesan nurses and midwifery training school; (iv) sustaining institutional and organizational capacity of the Diocesan health office and; (iv) recommend a future PHC programme with distinct strategies, objectives and main activities. The evaluation assessed relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the program (OECD-DAC)
